Personal History		Gerald's early childhood was one that was built on much excitement. As a child, Gerald was considered quite the daredevil and headstrong which resulted in him getting into all kinds of mischief. But as much as loved getting into trouble his love for one day joining Starfleet was far stronger. Once accepted to the Academy, Reeves immediately knew that he wanted to major in security. During his time in Starfleet Academy Gerald worked hard and also gained a good reputation among his fellow cadets and Academy staff. It was during his junior year that he was asked to join the Red Squad at the Academy. The experience was one of the highlights of his Academy experience, which led to a couple of adventures. After graduating the new Ensign was assigned to the USS Illinois a Miranda class starship. Gerald threw himself into his work and impressed his superior with his sense of dedication to the job. Not only that, but he also seemed to be the life of every party. Two years later, he received a promoted to Ltjg. and continued with the task. During this time, he met and fell for one of a civilian personnel Martha. In 2327, Reeves was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to the Juhraya Colony which was close to the Cardassian border. With his wife accompanying him on this assignment, they had brought along their newborn son Jason who had been born a few weeks prior. Overtime, Gerald quickly realized the Juhraya Colony would often end up in many discussions regarding the Cardassian Union. There was times that colony would end up on high alert due to the vicinity and rumors of a possible invasion which never took place. But after hearing how the Cardassians annexed Bajor that wasn't too far located from the Juhraya. Many colonist worried that it was a strong possibility. Seven later, Lieutenant Reeves accepted a position on the USS Baxter, while Martha and Jason returned to Earth. Skirmishes between Starfleet and Cardassian Union were increasing and the family felt it best for them to leave the world which was too close for their comfort. Aboard the USS Baxter, a Ambassador class ship, the Chief Security/Tactical Officer. found himself on assignments involving border control along the northern region of Cardassian border, along with bouncing to the lower region of the Tzenkethi Coalition Border. It was during this time that he learned about the brutality of these two groups that would forever leave a lasting impression. Years prior, Starfleet decided to relocate Starbase New Hope to the Icarus System in order to deal with the expanding threat of the Cardassian Union. Upon the completion of its five-year refit in 2339, Gerald Reeves accepted a transfer along with a promotion to Lt. Commander. The newly promoted Lt. Commander was personally pleased with the Federation taking a more active stand against the threat that could be just as deadly as the Klingon threat so many decades prior. It was also the opportunity for his wife and child to return, which brought their family back together again. Over the next four years, Starbase Icarus has remained a very important asset for this sector, but the Federation-Cardassian Cold War seems to be further progressing to an eventual war.
